Dr. Scarber received Bachelors, Masters and PhD (1998) degrees from the School of Engineering at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). Dr. Scarber is a registered professional engineer in Alabama and Mississippi.

Dr. Scarber served as a Research Engineer at UAB from 2001 to 2009 where he specialized in computer-aided modeling and simulation of physics and engineering processes. Dr. Scarber collaborated with producers of engineering software to improve the accuracy and usefulness of their engineering modeling and simulation software. He interfaced with both the software producer and the product manufacturer to ensure the software models and simulations accurately represented the products and processes that they were intended to model. Dr. Scarber developed new methods, published research results in scientific journals and presented his findings at conferences and meetings. Dr. Scarber worked with over 35 companies located in 25 states and four continents.  His customers included GM, Chrysler, Caterpillar, Boeing, John Deere and Mercedes. His work saved these companies an estimated $13 million dollars.     

Dr. Scarber is now focused on bringing his unique skill set and expertise to the field of accident reconstruction. He is working with multiple software platforms to produce models and simulations of accidents with engineering rigor. He is also working on simulation and presentation formats that add great value in making critical points to the Court and the Jury. 

Dr. Scarber is a member in good standing of the American Society of Materials International, National Society of Black Engineers, National Society of Professional Engineers and the American Foundry Society where he received the society's Outstanding Service Award for Division 11 in 2008 and Best Paper for Engineering in 2007. He was chosen as the UAB National Alumni Society Outstanding Young Alumnus of the Year in 2004.
